Large work tables, sewing machines and irons are provided in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. If you have never picked up a needle and thread but need to mend clothing articles or would like to make a garment, this class will teach you fundamentals to do the job. For advanced students you will learn new construction techniques; hot to handle difficult fabrics, create your designs and achieve a good personal fit. Ikebana is the art of beautifully arranging cut stems, leaves and flowers in vases and other containers that evolved in Japan over seven centuries. To arrange the stems and flowers exactly as one wishes, a familiarity with many different ways of fastening and positioning them is necessary. These techniques are what people attend Ikebana classes to learn. Usually three to five years are required to acquire these technical skills. Instructor: Kikkawa Location: Pasadena Senior Center
