City of Pasadena
HUMAN SERVICES, RECREATION AND HOUSING NEEDS ASSESSMENT March 5 through March 23, 2012
What Are We Doing?
Pasadena residents are encouraged to share input on the most significant human services, recreation and housing needs for persons of all ages in the community. The City of Pasadena’s Human Services and Recreation Department and the Department of Housing are partnering to conduct a citywide needs assessment specifically for Pasadena residents and their families. Surveys will be distributed and collected throughout the City during March 2012.
The purpose of the needs assessment is to enhance the quality of life for community residents and to support the development of resident data that is linked to resources and can be monitored over time. Data collection will include several survey research methods including telephone/cell phone and selfadministered surveys. Anyone can take the survey online or at one of the locations listed below between March 5 and March 23. Surveys will be available in both English and Spanish. Following is a sample of the type of input we need to help deliver high quality service:
• How residents find out about services • What programs / services are needed • Where residents are going for services
Where Will We Be?
Residents can Take the Survey Throughout the Community o Survey Saturday — March 10, 2012 from 11am to 1pm
On March 10th, the Pasadena needs assessment team will be visitingvarious locations in the community to ask residents to participate and complete a short, self-administered survey. Please feel free to stop by and share your input if you come across one of our survey stations located at Victory Park and the Rose Bowl area! This is an opportunity for residents to share their valuable concerns and opinions about services that are needed in the community. By taking the survey, residents can enter to win one of several $50 gift certificates to be used towards a recreation class or activity with the Human Services and Recreation Department.
Starting March 5, Self-Administered Surveys will be available at: • City Hall—Room N255 • Housing Department • Senior Center • Villa-Parke Community Center • La Pintoresca Teen Education Center • All Pasadena Public Libraries • Jackie Robinson Community Center • Robinson Park Recreation Center • Victory Park Recreation Center
