2012 Cosmetology Classes - This applies only to students enrolled in Cosmetology 30 Hour Program Thursday/Friday/Saturday schedule. Cosmetology Students may be absent up to and no more than a total of 150 hours, of which only 60 hours may be missed on Saturdays or the days after or before a holiday. Beyond 150 hours of absence or beyond 60 hours missed on Saturdays or the days after or before a holiday, the student will be terminated with the opportunity for one appeal. Tardies-If you arrive after 9:15 Monday –Friday then you will be dismissed from school and hours will be counted as missed in your pool of 150 hours allowable time. If you arrive after 8:15 on Saturday then you will be dismissed for the day and the hours will be counted in your pool of 60 hours missed on Saturdays. Breaks-If you arrive back more than 15 minutes late from break then you will be dismissed for the day. The total amount of hours will be deducted from your total pool of hours. Early Departures-Students may leave no more than 12 times during the entire program for an early departure. If a student goes over 12 times then they will be suspended for two days and these hours will be counted as time missed in the pool of 150 total hours. Attendance Policy & Standards
The purpose of this policy is to assert that attendance is crucial for successful completion of the enrolled program and preparation in future career employment. Students must be in attendance for a minimum of 3 hours per day (Ohio State Board Requirement). If students encounter situations that mandate missed hours, such as emergencies and illnesses, each field of study has a predetermined amount of allowable time missed that can be used for class or student salon time. The allowable time missed has been established as the maximum amount of time
that students can be absent and still achieve the quality of skills that will be necessary in the workplace. The Aveda Fredric’s Institute does not distinguish between excused or unexcused absences.
Cosmetology Students may be absent up to and no more than a total of 100 hours, of which only 32 hours may be missed on Saturdays. Beyond 100 hours of absence or beyond 32 hours missed on Saturdays, the student will be terminated with the opportunity for one appeal.
Managing Cosmetology Students may be absent up to and no more than a total of 24 hours, of which only 8 hours may be missed on Saturdays. Beyond 24 hours of absence or beyond 8 hours missed on Saturdays, the student will be terminated with the opportunity for one appeal.
Managing Esthiology Students may be absent up to and no more than a total of 53 hours, of which only 16 hours may be
missed on Saturdays. Beyond 53 hours of absence or beyond, 16 hours missed on Saturdays, the student will be terminated with the opportunity for one appeal.
Managing Manicuring Students may be absent up to and no more than a total of 24 hours, of which only 8 hours may be missed on Saturdays. Beyond 24 hours of absence or beyond 8 hours missed on Saturdays, the student will be terminated with the opportunity for one appeal.
Reporting Time Missed
If you become ill, or for any other reason are going to be tardy, leaving early or absent, you must notify the school as soon as possible, and prior to the beginning of the day at 513-533-0700 x 5. You must contact the school personally and not through relatives or friends. Students are to be clocked in, and present, and in assigned classroom/student salon Tuesday through Friday at 9:00 a.m. and Saturdays at
