PMA is the Place to Be If you are searching for a school with dedicated and excellent

teachers, top-notch administrators, a well-balanced curriculum, and some of the latest educational innovations in technology, then PMA is definitely the place to be. The staff of Presentation of Mary Academy (PMA) prides itself in joining hands with the parents, as an extension of the family unit, to develop students academically, developmentally, socially, and spiritually. Four years ago, the Academy began pursuing a technology goal that would provide cutting-edge technology in all of its 25 classrooms. Each classroom is now equipped with an interactive Starboard, an Elmo camera, and one or more computers and laptops. Each student in the junior high school has access to his/her own net book computer within the classroom. There are two state- of-the-art computer labs, accommodating entire classes, used for instruction, research and other class-related activities. All students from Kindergarten through Grade 8 receive weekly instruction in computer science.

One of the outstanding trademarks of the Academy is its curriculum. Centered on the Catholic values of faith, moral development, and academic excellence, every student from Pre- K to grade 8 progressively learns to integrate and master the core curriculum of reading, writing, and mathematics into all aspects

of academics in a safe, loving and supportive environment. In addition, religion, science, social studies, Spanish (grades 6-8), computer science, physical education, music, and library science are also an integral part of the curriculum. In the fall and spring, the Junior High students participate in six-week enrichment courses, which often awaken natural talents within the students. These mini-courses vary from year to year and can include jewelry making, cooking, stenciling, photography, web design, creative writing, drama, Chinese writing, budget/finances, auto mechanics, and much more. It’s a great way to discover new hobbies and talents, through activities unavailable in every-day classroom life. The Academy also offers many extracurricular activities and sports

programs, such as cross country running, track and field, lacrosse, volleyball, soccer, cheerleading, instructional and CYO basketball, ski club, softball, baseball, chorus, art classes, martial arts, Battle of the Books, and piano lessons. A major project for the school at this time is the addition of a new state-of–the- art athletic field on our campus, which should be ready by late spring 2012 with the laying of the artificial turf. To help raise funds for this huge endeavor, the Academy is hosting its third annual Dinner and Auction to take place at the Nashua Country Club on Saturday, March 24.

The Academy is blessed with an active parent organization that contributes financially toward field trips, provides enrichment programs, and organizes social activities for family fun. PMA also has a devoted group of volunteers, who help during the school day or from home in a variety of ways. Parents are encouraged to participate in their children’s education however they can, according to their schedules.

In the spring of 2010, the PMA Parent Group invested over $130,000.00 into a state of the art playground at the school. As one of our smallest students commented to a teacher, “This new playground is better than Canobie Lake Park. It is so big. We can all play at the same time.” Our extended-day program allows students to arrive as early as 6:30 am and/or to remain until 6:00 pm, to meet the varied needs of parents.

Please consider giving your child the gift of a private Catholic education consisting of solid academics and a respect for self and others, rooted in strong moral and social values. This educational foundation, enhanced through extracurricular activities and enrichment programs, will enable your child to experience success during his/her educational journey and beyond.

PMA is the place to be, PMA helps me to be me.
