is unique because MAC yoga instructors connect the movement of the body and the fluctuations of the mind to the rhythm of our breath. Connecting the mind, body and breath helps us to direct our attention inward. Through this process of inward attention, MAC yogis learn to recognize our habitual thought patterns without labeling them, judging them or trying to change them. We become more aware of our experiences from moment to moment. The awareness that we cultivate is what makes yoga a practice, rather than a task or a goal to be completed. Our bodies become much more flexible by doing yoga and so do our minds.
We have, because of demand, further broadened our portfolio of class offerings to almost 30 diverse weekly classes benefitting any and all MAC member demographics. These are augmented by numerous Friday Focuses and other special longer clinics and workshops delving in more detail into the various mind and body limbs of yoga. Every athletic discipline at MAC could be enhanced by the cross training benefits available in our program. All classes and Friday Focuses are free to MAC members.
Committee members continue to identify offerings benefiting the MAC commu- nity and are currently working to develop
another “off campus” yoga retreat, as well as provide long-term planning input to MAC to develop a “wellness center” that provides smaller class sizes and personal training avail- ability to club members.

resulted in some good games and a lot of fun. We hope to increase the number of participants in 2012 and are looking at fielding a MAC adult team in local league play. Thank you fellow committee members Lynda Anderson, Lorne Dauenhauer, Steve Gann, David Harding, Lee Whitaker and Beth Zilbert and our excellent AC liaison Bob Radler. I am extremely grateful for the excellent and patient MAC staff of Dan Baggett, Van Dekoning, and Kellie Halkinrude, who continue to go above and beyond to support MAC volleyball. Lastly I’d like to thank the unsung of the program, the parents who support MAC volleyball, shuttle the players to practice and games and spend long days in cold gyms. Thank you. WM
