how the club is run and how decisions are made, and to be part of that process,” she says. “Apparently, I offered enough opinions and ideas that I was deemed to be worthy of a trustee position!”

Henderson is a photo stylist and a Portland native, though her work and education have taken her around the world. She went to school in Colorado and London, and lived in New York and Chicago before returning to Portland in 1993.

Terry has gotten to know many different facets of MAC. “My wife is more of a social user of the club, my oldest son uses the E&C Room on a daily basis, my daughter is an E&C user when she is home from college and my youngest loves the basketball courts,” he says.

And Terry is a regular user of the E&C Room, running track, Reading Lounge, Sports Pub and MACtinis. He discovered the club through a friend, John Hisatomi, who was Terry’s proposer, and brought him into the club through the ethnic diversity program in 2001. Terry is originally from Ellerbe, N.C., and after graduation joined the Air Force and was stationed for four years at Mountain Home Air Force Base in south- western Idaho. “I fell in love with the Northwest and after a tour of duty in Germany, I moved to Portland in 1991 to attend the Funeral Service program at Mt. Hood Community College,” he says. “After graduation from the program I chose to make Portland my home.” Terry has served on the Nominating, Ethnic Diversity and Civic Membership committees, and chaired the Entertainment and Property committees. He owns and operates Terry Family Funeral Home. “Part of my commitment for joining MAC was to get involved and meet the other members of the club,” Terry says. “It was a surprise for me to be asked to be a trustee and I feel it is an honor to be asked to help manage the club in the future.” WM
