Please tell us the story behind The Little Green Sheep, and how you got started. Since an early age I have always had passion for business and, as a graduate at a large corporate firm, I discovered that starting my own business was something that I really wanted to do. The idea for The Little Green Sheep really came about after visiting some competitor retailers. I was shocked by the poor levels of customer service and quality of products, especially given that having a baby is such an important life changing

moment in someone’s life! I decided that parents could benefit from a retailer and brand which was solely focused on offering the best baby bedtime products and who are experts in their field.

What is the ethos behind your company and what made you decide upon the name “The Little Green Sheep”? From the start both myself (Mark) and Paul (co-founder) wanted to place an emphasis on the ethical side of business and we very much believe in using as many sustainable materials

as possible in the manufacture of The Little Green Sheep products. For example, we only use fleece wool in our baby mattresses that is sheared seasonally for the sheep’s wellbeing and the latex used in our Twist natural mattress is 100% pure (sap from the Hevea tree), not synthetic like in many other mattresses sold. The name represents the brands core values;

The Little (Baby),

Green (Natural/Organic) and Sheep (Bedtimes).

Why do you believe handmade is special?
