Hunterdon County CSA—From Farm to Table
S
andbrook Meadow Farm is located on 50 acres in the beautiful rolling farmland of Sergeantsville in Hunterdon
County. Now in its second year, farmers Alex and Mary-Laura Sawatzky join landowners Brent and Deirdre Alderfer to offer fresh vegetables weekly throughout the growing season as a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm. The CSA model has gained popularity in the United
States over the past 30 years. In exchange for purchasing a “share” in the farm, CSA members receive part of the weekly bounty. This alternative model benefits small farms by pro- viding a predictable income. The list of benefits is long and includes supporting local farmers, knowing where and how your food is produced, reducing your environmental impact, and preserving farmland. Sandbrook Meadow partners are committed to preserv- ing the integrity of the land and the joys of farm community through responsible organic farming practices. Sandbrook Meadow Farm CSA members and their families can spend as little or much time on the farm as they wish seeing the vegetables grow and experiencing the joy that only a visit to the farm can bring.
