Educating the Educators by Betty McKinney• photos by John McCormick
More than 2,000 educators and counselors working in Central Virginia are graduates of Lynchburg College’s master of education program.
LC grads are leaders in public and private schools and community agency and private practice counseling, as well as other related human services fields. Currently, LC alums hold seventy-nine positions as principals, assistant principals, and directors of instructional, technology, and special education in 157 Central Virginia schools. In addition, approximately 24 percent of all Central Virginia teachers graduated from Lynchburg College.
“Our graduates are well-trained and well-received,” said Dr. Ed Polloway, dean of graduate studies, “and they are making a positive impact on Central Virginia.” Read the profiles of some of these outstanding educators.
