February 1952 (Accession June 2012 in an online Time

Capsule at http://www.jubileetimecapsule.org With over 23,000 items already contributed to the Jubilee Time Capsule from people in 41 countries across the Commonwealth – from school children in Pakistan to Chelsea Pensioners in the UK - the project is set to be the most ambitious digital legacy

of the Diamond Jubilee. Year 7 students were encouraged to submit their memories and five members of Year 7 have had their entries accepted to the Jubilee Time Capsule!

The Commonwealth Day Observance is a unique occasion where the wonderful cultural diversity of the fifty four Commonwealth countries is celebrated. Students will be encouraged to explore this rich diversity in the weeks prior to Commonwealth Day, so that they can fully understand what the

Observance is celebrating and how they can benefit from the day.

Not only can the girls see their entries online, but they have also been invited to attend the Diamond Jubilee Commonwealth Day Observance in Westminster Abbey, along with star historians in the year group. We are all very excited about attending the event and meeting our Commonwealth neighbours from around the globe. Look out for a report of our experiences in the Newsletter!
