Peterborough (Region) Swim Team at a dual meet on January 12 at the Salem Workout Club and Wellness Center. Many RAYS scored at this meet and several set new team records during the meet. Scoring was for the first or the first and second place, depending on the number of entrants in individual events. Local swimmers participating at this meet included Jenna and Breault of Hudson and Emi and Owen Caprioglio, Sidney Ryan and Katie Soraghan of Litchfield. RAYS team record in the Boys 8 & Under 100-yard Backstroke, touching in at a time of 1:28.97. His first place individual events included the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard individual medley races as well. In addition, Owen teamed with Jack McCarthy, Miller Swank (Windham) and Owen Nelson in the 100-yard Medley Relay and Jack, Miller and Nick Lamy in the 100-yard Freestyle Relay to place first in both relays. submitted by Jack Floyd Big congratulations to the Shock for winning the Hudson Recreation 2012 Senior Girls basketball championship! The Shock beat the Liberty in the championship game by one point in triple overtime. This exciting game featured two teams whose only losses all year came against each other. The championship game was played on Saturday, February 11, at Alvirne High School. The Shock team was coached by Jack Floyd and included Mallory
Floyd, Haillie Mousseau, Kayla Rondeau, Amber Rondeau, Rebekah Alpert, Shannon Irwin, Alyssa Pietrowski, Noelle Dignan and Sarah O’Brien.

celebrated Senior Night for its senior wrestlers. With family and friends sitting in the bleachers, the five seniors were recognized for their hard work and dedication to their team and to their sport. Co- Captain Josh Metivier (126), Co-Captain John Roark (152), Mike Meli (138), Steve Lichtenberg (195) and Tyler Burgess (220) were all in attendance as Coach Mirabella introduced each one of them individually and spoke about their talent, commitment, dedication and sportsmanship. Coach Jackson met each of them in the circle on the mat to shake their hands, speak a few words and thank and congratulate them. Each senior then presented gifts to their parents with family photos taken after. These seniors showed great leadership throughout the season to the team and will be greatly missed by their teammates and coaches. After the seniors were acknowledged they moved on to host their last home meet against Litchfield Campbell High. With all of the seniors ending their night with a win in their weight class and an overall team win.
Alvirne attended the Cavalier Dual at Hollis Saturday,
February 11. The Alvirne Broncos took to the road to compete at Hollis-Brookline High School against Pelham, Londonderry and Bow in the Cavalier Duals, taking away several wins. Up first for the day was Alvirne against Londonderry with Mike Meli (138) taking the lead with 6-1 in the first period and winning with a Major Decision. John Roark (152) had a close match but took the win for his match with a Decision. Steve Lichtenberg (195) had an exciting match that went into overtime with a win by Decision.
Next team up for Alvirne was the Pelham Pythons with Josh Metivier (126) winning with a pin with 31 seconds left on the clock

Alvirne winning with the team score of 31-30.
