New Treasurer, Budget, and Fate of the Constitution/bylaws
The business meeting held at the Orange County Extension Office in conjunction with the annual convention went well into the night and was followed almost immediately by the Board of Managers meeting. The minutes for both events were distributed via the FS- BA Ezine and have been posted on the web site in the “members only” section: username: apis - password: 2012. The membership is urged to read this information containing a lengthy report by the President and Executive Secretary, as well as other news. Elected Officers include Gary Ranker (President), Keith Councell (Vice President) and Debbie Bohannon (Treasurer).

Ms. Bohannon replaces long-time Treasurer Bert Kelley and so this year will be a work in progress as the books are shifted over from one caretaker to another. Ms. Bohannon has produced the 2011-2012 budget, which was subsequently approved by the Board of Managers and is published in this newsletter in accordance with the current bylaws and constitution

A special vote recorded during the general business meeting was requested by the Board of Managers for those in attendance to vote either “up” or “down” on the draft of a newly revised set of bylaws and constitution. The vote failed via a paper ballot distributed to those deemed to be eligible to vote. There were 38 no votes and 23 yes votes.

http://floridabeekeepers.org. A committee selected by President Ranker recommended in a split vote that Dennis Riggs be given financial compensation of $1,500 to develop the new presence.
