hands-on experiences. Craft and art festivals, live music, unique shopping and antiquing stops offer a strong base of experiences that enhance the local artisan shops, performance venues and artist retreats that pepper the countryside. Several Arts Venues are group friendly and include:
Performing Arts Center at Kent State Tuscarawas – Opened in 2010 with 1,100 seats, the center hosts many performances including traveling Broadway shows, comedians, musical performances and more. Daytime, educational programming is held for students through their ‘Class Acts’ series. Sprinkled in to the performance schedule are performances of the Tuscarawas Philharmonic.
Schoenbrunn Amphitheatre- In addition to two historical dramas (‘Trumpet in the Land’ and ‘The White Savage’) a summer musical is held on select dates as well as a production of ‘Dracula’ in early October!
Tuscora Park/RTY Summer Showcase – Free Sunday evening concerts set on the hillside of historic New Philadelphia held Memorial Day through Labor Day. Tuscarawas Center for the Arts – A unique venue housing the work of local artists and art students, the Center is also a unique performance, meeting or meal venue.
Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County - Local thespians come together in this 250-seat intimate theater with a season of five productions annually that includes popular comedies, dramas and musicals.
Uhrichsville Clay Museum - Groups can have a hands-on experience working with clay just like the workers in local clay manufacturing companies of the past and see the collection of folk arts pieces created by those same workers.
