Jean Pellicorne Thursday 19 April, 1pm & 3pm Meet Jean Pellicorne, a wealthy Amsterdam merchant, and learn about life in the Dutch Republic at the time of Rembrandt. The 3pm performance will be followed by talks by fashion students from Kensington and Chelsea College detailing how they made Jean Pellicorne’s intricate costume.


Masterpieces of Dutch Art Join Lucy Davis, Curator of Old Master Pictures as she highlights some of the masterpieces of Dutch Art from the Wallace Collection’s world class collection. All talks take place at 1pm in the East Galleries.

In collaboration with Guildhall School of Music & Drama, this mini-opera re- creates Monteverdi’s thrilling vision of an epic sword fight in music, complementing perfectly with our current exhibition The Noble Art of the Sword: Fashion and Fencing in Renaissance Europe. Lunchtime performances are shorter and promenade style in the Great Gallery. Evening performances take place seated cabaret style in the glazed courtyard restaurant, include additional music, a talk by curator Toby Capwell and the opportunity for an evening view of the exhibition.
