Meet the 2012 ohio soybean Council executive Committee The Ohio Soybean Council (OSC)


Board of Trustees held officer elections during the board meeting at the end of 2011. The positions elected were chair- man, vice chairman, treasurer and sec- retary, making up the 2012 OSC executive committee. John Motter from Hancock County


was elected chairman. He most re- cently served as vice chairman. John attended The Ohio State University and currently grows soybeans, corn and wheat on his farm near Jenera. In addi- tion to his position with OSC, he is also a district supervisor for the Hancock County Soil & Water Conservation Dis- trict, a member of the Ohio State Exten-


sion Advisory Board and Ohio Soybean Association. John also serves as one of four Ohio farmer leaders on the United Soybean Board. “I am very honored and humbled to


have been elected by my peers to lead the Ohio Soybean Council in 2012,” said Motter. “I would also like to thank the previous OSC chairman, Allen Arm- strong, for his leadership in 2011. Look- ing forward to the next year, we have some great programs and initiatives that are very exciting and I can’t wait to be a part of that.” After serving two terms as secre-


tary, Patrick Knouff was elected as vice chairman. Patrick currently raises

soybeans and corn, as well as a heard of heifers on his farm in Shelby County. He is a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation and Ohio Soybean Association. Patrick also serves as vice chairman of the Soy Transportation Coalition. Morral. Keith is an active member of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation. This is Keith’s first position on the OSC executive committee. Also new to the OSC executive


committee is Terry McClure, who was elected secretary. Terry grows soy- beans, corn and wheat on his farm in Paulding County. Terry has held lead- ership roles at the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, and is an active member of the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association, Ohio Pork Producers Council, Ohio Corn and Wheat Growers Association and Ohio Soybean Association. He also represents OSC on the National Biodiesel Board.
