In all the years that the Awards have been held, there have been a number of high quality entries that have not quite been the best in any one category but have been impressive across a range of categories. Similarly, there have been interesting
and thought-
provoking entries that did not quite fit into any category and missed
therefore recognition. Te
Wildcard Award has been developed to recognize these ‘hybrid’ entries. It should be noted that this award will be given at the discretion of the judges and there is no direct entry to it. Note also that it will only be awarded to suitably composed and presented entries to other award categories.

Te Colt Modular Data Centre
Colt is an established player when it comes to the provision of high-specification data center facilities. It has more than 15 years of experience operating and managing data centers. It has 19 facilities across Europe.
Colt’s recently launched Data Centre Services (DCS) division provides customers with long-term, high- quality, large-scale data centres and services. Its Modular Data Centre, based on a component design, is redefining the construction and delivery of large data center halls. It’s a radical new approach built and tested (including power and cooling) in approved manufacturing facilities using factory production line techniques before being transported to either a Colt-managed or customer- chosen site.
Tis innovative approach delivers highly power-efficient, turnkey data centers in under four months, while offering the flexibility to build large-scale data centers in 500 sq m increments to the size and layout of choice. Colt has already delivered this solution to a customer in 2010.
Key features: 1. Te core design of the data center eliminates inefficiencies of traditional building techniques
2. Colt’s MDC is manufactured, staged and tested at approved factories before transportation to site
3. Decreased operating costs driven down by decreased power usage (PUE design target of 1.21)
4. Power and cooling options - minimum base configuration capable (750kW power and 1500W/ m2 power density for a 500m2 hall)
5. 500 sq m units joined and double-stack to suit customer’s capacity needs using real estate more efficiently
6. Supplied to customers site of choice across Europe, or housed and managed in a Colt location.
