NEW YEAR, NEW WEB SITE!
The New Year has welcomed some very big changes here at DatacenterDynamics, and FOCUS magazine. The biggest being our new website. The change also signifies huge shifts in the data center industry and conferences, with ten new additions including Mumbai and Shenzen.
In Chinese astrology 2010 signified the aggressive Year of the Tiger, and didn’t we know it. From new carbon taxes, metrics, industry mergers and acquisitions and the realization that data centers are vital in most, if not all industry sectors, the industry seemed to unify somewhat and take its challenges to heart. It also became a driving force around the world with businesses and governments realizing its importance while data center players made aggressive moves to enter these brave new markets.
The Year of the Rabbit signifies a more settled year during which, the Chinese believe, the hard work can be done and issues ironed out. According to Chinese beliefs the Year of the Rabbit is a more sophisticated period requiring gracious manners and sensitivity, concentration, a balanced outlook and diplomacy. It is, essentially, a year that could shape those to come and oversee outcomes to challenges raised in 2010.
