Emerson Network Power launched a new row-based cooling system for data centers, expanding its family of Liebert cooling products, which already includes a number of precision cooling solutions. The new Liebert CRV fits within a row of racks and blows cold air horizontally in both directions.

The Liebert CRV is designed for a segregated hot aisle/cold aisle configuration. The system includes real-time environmental monitoring features and dynamic cooling capacity controls.

Dot VN, provider of internet and telecommunications services in Vietnam, has secured exclusive rights to distribute Elliptical Mobile Solutions’ data center rack enclosures that suspend IT equipment racks within secured one-rack containers. The containers include cooling infrastructure. They have wheels and some models are self- propelled. Besides exclusive distribution

rights in Vietnam, Dot VN has also become a non-exclusive distributor of EMS solutions throughout the rest of the Asian markets, according to Dot VN chief executive Thomas Johnson. “This product is going to be

launched in Vietnam, and we are the exclusive distributor,” he said. Chandler, Arizona-based EMS

launched three models of its product in Vietnam at the end of January. The product is already commercially available in the US. RASER, the 36U model, has a

power capacity of up to 8KW and is available with dual-power inlets

The digital scroll compressor adapts to capacity changes between 20-100% without cycling off, Emerson said in a statement. The system adjusts fan speed based on IT load levels.

The Liebert iCOM monitoring and control system allows for integration of multiple CRV systems to work in concert, allowing for easy scalability of the cooling capacity.

The system is available in different forms: as a standalone

for redundancy. Out of the three, this is the only model that offers redundant power inlets. Both of the other two models –

the 22U SPEAR and the 24U C-SPEAR – are armoured and self-propelled. The drive system they feature helps move up to 1,000 pounds of equipment up a 6% grade. The SPEAR model is also armoured. All three models feature

the company’s patent-pending suspension system to protect the equipment from shock and vibration. The rack floats inside an outer frame, using a combination of magnetorheological, pneumatic and elastometric suspension systems. Depending on the model and

options selected by the buyers, Dot VN will sell the systems in Vietnam and the rest of Asia for US$35,000-$140,000.

Raritan has introduced a new KVM switch with a built-in encryption module certified under the Federal Information

air-cooled, water/glycol cooling system with a roof-mounted condenser, or as a chilled-water configuration integrated directly into the building’s chilled-water system.

Processing Standards (FIPS) – a certification that is required for equipment used by the US Federal government. “The FIPS 140-2 Cryptographic

Module used by the Dominion KX II meets the requirements for the US and Canadian mandates for cryptographic-based security systems to protect sensitive information,” Raritan’s senior product manager, Richard Dominach, said in a statement. “Raritan’s solutions can

help organisations in government, military, financial, healthcare, retail and other security-conscious segments secure their information.” The FIPS standard is developed

by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and approved by the US Secretary of Commerce, as mandated by the Information Technology Management Reform Act that was adopted in 1996. According to Raritan, this is

the first KVM-over-IP switch on the market that has an embedded FIPS-certified encryption module.
