Free bicycle workshop


Area parents and children looking to


tune up and learn about their bicycles will receive free assistance at a bicycle refurbishing event sponsored by the East Valley Jewish Day School. EVJDS students and volunteers from WeCycle of Mesa and the Tempe Bicycle Action Group will provide flat repairs, lubrica- tion and adjustments from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Fri., Feb. 24 at the East Valley Jewish Community Center, 908 N. Alma School Rd. in Chandler. Bicycle safety resources and instruction will be available, and refurbished bikes will be distributed to local families in need. “It is part of our everyday curriculum


to teach our students about mitzvoth – good deeds – and helping others,” says Emily Zappa of the East Valley Jewish Day School. “This is a wonderful way to have our students, parents and sur- rounding community members help one another while learning about important bicycle safety and mainte- nance.” To learn more, call 480-993-6438,
