“I really like the way Jacqui considers the whole body when addressing a problem, rather than the area of pain in isolation. I feel that there has been a notable improvement in my sporting ability and performances as a result.” Michelle, 31 – Triathlete.
“Thank you for all your help. A lifesaver, to both of us. You make us feel 10 years younger!” John and Maureen, treated for back pain and arthritic knees.
H
aving recently moved to new premises and expanded its team, The Bingley Physiotherapy Practice is rapidly
establishing itself as a top clinic for those with physical pain and sporting injuries. Mum-of-two Jacqui Taylor started the practice out of her home just three-and-a-half years ago, and treats clients of all ages for a variety of issues including osteoarthritis, back pain and neck pain. The practice also regularly works with Leeds-Bradford Triathlon Club, Bradford Rowing Club, Bingley Harriers, Keighley Running Club, Bradford Ju Jitsu, and numerous other cyclists, footballers, rugby players, and athletes. “The main age-group is people in their 30s and 40s, who find it takes longer to recover from injuries, or problems become more persistent,” explains Jacqui. “About half my work is with people who have postural related problems linked to their jobs and repetitive, habitual postures, as well as general aches and pains brought on by everyday life. “But whether it’s a sporting-related injury
or a work-related one, my strategy is always to get to the root cause of the problem, and not

just simply treat the symptoms.” Jacqui, who is herself a keen triathlete, studied on a post-graduate course with two of Canada’s leading international lecturers and clinicians. The innovative assessments and treatments she has adopted have consistently resulted in trememendous outcomes for clients - and you only have to look at the glowing testimonials accompanying this article to see that.
Demand is obviously growing for her
services too. The practice took on an additional physiotherapist, Katie Stone, last October, and in January they also introduced a Chiropody and Podiatry services. It all adds up to a bright-looking future for the clinic – and its clients. “One of the great things about my job is the people I have the pleasure of meeting,” says Jacqui. “It’s wonderful to hear their individual stories and help them achieve their aim – whatever that may be. From climbing the stairs independently to completing an Ironman triathlon, it’s hugely rewarding to see people realise these goals.”
“Friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. Nothing seems to phase Jacqui. She has been a great help and I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone with sports-related injuries.” Jeff, a keen runner with a number of lower limb and foot problems.

Skin Deep
Cleansing, toning and moisturising waits for no woman, so this month I decided to change my attitude to this whole process and am hoping my boat race will thank me for it. It had better or we’re going to fall out! A joy not a chore, I’ve ditched the ritual two minute scrub with a wipe to a good ten minutes of careful application, dabbing and massage and with the help of some delightful skincare products, I am changing the very face of my skincare routine.
