Daniel Lloyd signs for IG Sigma Sport in 2012


Former Garmin-Cervelo and Cervelo Test Team rider Daniel Lloyd has signed for British team IG Sigma Sport for the 2012 season. Lloyd joins two other recent signings to the team, Olympics hopeful Steven Burke and former Rapha-Condor- Sharp rider Dan Craven. Lloyd has become known as a reliable and hard-working domestique for the Cervelo Test Team, competing in both the Giro d'Italia in 2009 and 2010 and the 2010 Tour de France. Having not been offered a renewed contract with the Garmin team, Lloyd had made attempts to retain a ride at WorldTour level with other squads but he has been ultimately unsuccessful. It had looked as if an early retirement from racing was on the cards until the IG Sigma Sport deal was

held their launch at the MountbattenWater sports centre in Plymouth, Devon. The team is principally sponsored by Primal Europe Cycling apparel company and had a successful 2011 , with over 25 wins across the country.Judith Smith, European Sales Director, said “We were so proud of the team in 2011 , not only did they win lots of races but inspired the development of a totally new cycling club.” Primal Europe will be represented at the Perf’s Pedal road race but the team’s first target for the season will be the Severn Bridge road race onMarch 4th.

Performance Cycles replaces Qoroz The CMI U23 development team has announced that it will run under the title sponsorship ofPerformance Cycles in 2012. Formerly known as Team Qoroz, this season the team will be racing on Kuota Kebel bikes, equipped with SRAM Red groupset and Reynolds Assault race wheels. The partnership with the CMI Senior squad will enable the young riders to tackle UCI events during the season, the first of these are the 3 ‘Challenge des Phosphatiers’ UCI 1 .2 races inMorocco during earlyApril. Other opportunities will include the Tour of Serbia UCI 2.2, where the team would love to repeat the stage win of 2011 . These races, along with high-level UK competition, will offer a fantastic chance for the U23 riders to gain valuable experience in this part of their careers.


The team's riders for 2012 are - Luke Dunbar, Al Murison, Conor Ryan, Todd Hotchkiss and Jack Reed.
