Small is beautiful for Fausti
Fausti is off ering a new variation of its successful DEA side-by- side shotgun. Named the DEA British SL,
W
this 28-bore is designed for those who like a challenge and want something easy to handle and smaller than the usual 12 or even 20-gauge. T e Brescia-based fi rm says
the model is correctly scaled and built on a dedicated frame with a weight of just 2.36kg, making it swift and easy to mount. T e action is machined from a
solid block of alloy steel, precisely hardened and tempered with a colour-hardened fi nish, while the wood-to-metal fi t is said to match any high-grade gun. It comes with ornate fl oral
ornamental engraving inlaid in gold or silver. T is is entirely executed by hand using the Bulino technique and, like every other gun in the Fausti line, the DEA British SL can be fully customised. It is all part of Fausti’s plan to
off er very competitively priced side-by-side shotguns to the public and fi ner, more-exclusive models to a smaller audience.
ith demand for small- calibre shotguns growing,
As if that wasn’t enough, the
DEA British SL comes with all traditional SxS features, from oil-polished straight-grip stocks to fi nely chequered butts in select walnut, to forends with release buttons, single-trigger and side plates on very solid and reliable Anson & Deeley-type mechanisms. All small components, forend
irons, top levers and fi ring pins are machined from solid blocks of steel, usually found only on more-expensive guns. Another important feature
is the non-rotating extractor patented by Fausti, whose prism- shaped leg guarantees fl awless extraction, and ejection can be automatic or extraction only. Double triggers are the usual
choice but a single-trigger option is available upon request. Well- sized barrel lugs assure long and trouble-free life.
