long-range shooting Excellence in
T e story of Accuracy International is about an English company setting its sights on producing the quintessential sniper rifl e. Its skills in long-range shooting products are highly prized around the world.
U
K-based company Accuracy International (AI) develops rifl es with
supreme long-range accuracy and dependability in mind. In combat, operators need to
rely on their rifl es for fi rst-shot accuracy under the most extreme circumstances – so no room for error there. Due to their specifi c qualities,
AI’s products are among military, law enforcement and civilian shooters’ favourite rifl es for long- range shooting.
From an English garage to the world AI was formed in 1978 by two- time Olympic gold medallist the late Malcolm Cooper MBE; Sarah Cooper; Martin Kay; and weapon designers Dave Walls and Dave Caig. All were international or national target shooters. T e two Daves and Malcolm
started out developing and producing their ultimate long- range weapons in Walls’ garage. From the very beginning, AI’s original designs incorporated
performance-enhancing features, learnt in Olympic and international target shooting, onto a rifl e platform exhibiting full military ruggedness. T is unique package ensures
that the weapons are optimised for the function they must perform, something which cannot be achieved with a ‘ruggedised’ sporting rifl e. AI’s fi rst big contract was to
supply the British Special Boat Squadron (SBS) with a 7.62mm (.308) weapon system.
T is fi rst SBS rifl e was so
successful that AI was chosen to equip the British armed forces with 1,200 rifl es in 1982. More than 30 years on, AI is supplying its rifl es to more than 60 countries.
Top-notch sniper rifl es Claiming to produce the “best sniper rifl e in the world” AI has built quite a reputation, one which is literally battle-proven. To attain such a state of
