Where can you hear blues, folk and jazz and maybe a singer/songwriter or two? Leaven the mix with some comedy, maybe some flamenco and a little Peruvian harp and you have a typical evening at the Tavistock Acoustic Café. For almost fifteen years audiences at the Café have enjoyed all this and more in an intimate venue in the centre of town. The range of artists - all local - show why real live talent beats Simon Cowell’s manufactured karaoke singers any day and during those years the Café has also raised almost £25,000 for locally based charities. Now the Acoustic Cafe has a new home at the Wharf. Artists have always been delighted to accept an invitation to play at the Acoustic Café (and an appearance is by invitation only) - the audience has always been appreciative and everyone is given a 20 minute spot to really show what they can do.


So, if you think that a mix of contemporary folk, amazing flamenco, the West Country’s premier comic poet, some quite dazzling guitar playing, the famous Peruvian harpist (the harp is Peruvian - the harpist is local!) and a superb singer/songwriter is for you why not give the Acoustic Café at the Wharf a try. Shinkicker are a group of outstanding musicians performing the music of Rory Gallagher, in an honest and respectful tribute full of the dynamic spirit and musical prowess that was all encompassing in Rory’s live performances.


Inspired by Rory’s ability to combine a thrilling live show with both technical mastery and wild abandon Shinkicker treat every show as a one off, in celebration of the life and work of Rory Gallagher.
