The National League released its first 162- game schedule. That same year the National League added two new teams, the New York Mets and the Houston Colt .45’s. The National League was founded in 1876.

Feb. 5th, 1934


On this day future baseball Hall of Famer Henry Louis “Hank” Aaron Jr. was born


in Mobile, Alabama. Aaron would go on to hit 755 homeruns and was named National League Most Valuable Player in 1957.


Feb. 7th, 1958


The Brooklyn Dodgers officially became the Los Angeles Dodgers,


breaking the heart of thousands in New York. Originally the Dodgers


were formed as the Brooklyn Grays in 1883.
