F-C-A Athlete of the Month
ROWDY SIMON Vian High School
Being a Champion…Finish in First Place….two goals that athletes at every level strive to achieve. Rowdy Simon knows the strength of his abilities results from more than just hard work and effort.
“Keeping God in first place is my key to success, said Simon, a junior at Vian High School. “As a Christian, and as an athlete, you’re always under the microscope of
those people around you. Young people encounter peer pressure everyday, on and off the field. Life is filled with choices. When you stay in His word and surround yourself with Christian friends, it’s really a lot of fun to follow Jesus.”
Simon understands there will be setbacks. A multi-sport athlete for the Wolverines, Simon recently underwent shoulder surgery forcing him to the
sidelines. “A lot of people want to blame God for situations like mine,” nods Simon. “I believe that God allowed this to happen so that He can show me his love and blessings for my life.”
for whatever happens. I know that Jesus loves me and will reward me if I follow His plan for my life.”
Philippians 4:13 (NLT): “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
“I try to always think twice and then before I make any decision, I ask the question, how would this honor God,” confirmed Simon. “And, then I thank Him
