Section 002, Schedule # 535331 Entering Grades 3-5 Fee: $295 Monday-Friday, July 30-August 3, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Have you ever wanted to test your creative writing skills? Do you have dreams of becoming an author, poet, or famous playwright? In this program you can script your own short stories, poems, narratives, and biogra- phies to form your very own writing portfolio. Join us for a week of creative writing and hands-on activities, all culminating with an end of the week “open mic” performance where you will share your work to an applauding audience! Flights in Fantasy Writing Workshop Schedule # 535382 Entering Grades 5-8 Fee: $295 Monday-Friday, August 6-10, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Do you love stories of boys and girls who discover that they have strange and wonderful powers? Do you love books like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Twilight, and Lord of the Rings? Do you dream up strange, exotic, and exciting lands? Learn to make your fantasies take flight as you hone your writing skills with this fantasy writing workshop! Over the course of the week we will be discovering new and exciting ways to bring your dreams to life. We will be focusing on craſting a storyline, developing characters (and creatures!), honing descriptive writing skills, and creating maps amongst many other exciting fantasy activities throughout the week. To top everything off, we will end our week with the creation of your very own fantasy story! Instructor: Jon Hunt, English Instructor


Mythical Creatures of Fiction, Folklore and Film Schedule # 535346 Entering Grades 5-9 Fee: $295 Monday-Friday, July 30-August 3, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Legends have intrigued and fascinated people for centuries, long before they were made popular in today’s books and movies. Let’s explore the stories, art, and games of the ancient and medieval civilizations and learn the origins of creatures such as the vampire, phoenix, mermaid, werewolf, and others.
