8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Utah Parent Center, Salt Lake City, UT
PRE-REGISTRATION ISREQUIRED. THERE IS NO COST TO ATTEND, BUT SPACE IS LIMITED SO PLEASE REGISTER EARLY! PARENTS WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT. Due to popular demand the Utah Parent Center has scheduled a third Transition Mini-Conference in May.
May 3rd topics include: Developing the IEP and Transition Plan, Laws Impacting Transition; Information about
state adult agencies and how to access services; a Panel of Experts on adult living arrangements, guardianship, and community living.
May 4th topics include: Getting and Keeping That First Job; The Journey to Adulthood - how to help your child
learn about puberty and sexuality; Skills for Effective Parent Advocacy how to be a great advocate for your child and how to teach your child to become a self-advocate; Healthy Transition transitioning from pediatric to adult health care; and a Panel of State Service Providers including Utah State Office of Education, Division of Services for People with Disabilities, Utah State Office of Rehabilitation, Social Security; and Disability Resource Centers at state colleges and universities.
