MY i-on GLASGOW

Geoff Ellis G

eoff Ellis is MD of DF Concerts and Events, the company responsible for staging some of the most exhilarating live events in Scotland. Music makes up the majority of the company’s portfolio with performances by international superstars such as Rihanna, Kings of Leon, AC/DC and Take That, as well as one of the world’s largest music festivals, T in the Park. He also oversees the best independent talent at ‘Britain’s Best Small Venue’, King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut.

What does your typical day involve? A typical day involves calls to venues, agents and band managers as well as reviewing our gig marketing and ticket sales. There are

a lot of internal meetings to cover event planning, new projects and preparing budgets. On top of that I manage a strong team, respond to situations that crop up unexpectedly and try to squeeze in the odd cup of tea wherever possible.

Where are you from originally? Manchester.

Is there anything that would place Glasgow more firmly on the map? A train link from the airport to the city and more direct routes from Glasgow airport.
