LOVE Meditation Preparation: Spend the first part of your re- laxed alpha state on thoughts of a particular person you love. Consider whether you have placed conditions on that love and accept that you have limited your love to these conditions.
With the first part of February holding our attention on love, it felt only natural to encourage more. Why should we only fo- cus on love for the first two weeks of February, is it because we expect our love to be recognised and rewarded around this particular time of the year? Well, here’s to throwing a spanner in the works, this month we will be meditating on uncondi- tional love. So what defines unconditional love? Unconditional love is defined best by the particular conditions we place on love. Think of those closest to you and ask if there are any conditions you have placed on your love for them. Do you need them to act a particular way, have certain things or love you the way you need them to. Most love we experience is based on conditions not limited to those already men- tioned. Unconditional love sounds perfect and the only way to love, but it is a great deal harder to practise. This meditation will be of great benefit to those with control and co- dependence issues. It will encourage your subconscious to accept love without conditions—a better love. It will encourage freedom to love all people equally and promote spiritual development.
> Sit in your relaxed meditative state and bring your awareness to your breath. > Bring to mind your loved one and any condi- tions you have placed on that relationship. Please keep in mind that although some condi- tions seem rational, they are still constricting your heart and your ability to love completely. > Now visualise giving your loved one ultimate freedom to be and do what they want. How does this make you feel? Angry, sad, frus- trated, fearful? Bring in to your space the quali- ties you love about this person, their energy, personality or how they relate to life. > Imagine now them not being with you, not being available to meet your needs, but your love is with them anyway. Feel your heart en- ergy expand with love for them as you accept them regardless of what they do or don‘t do for you.

which includes not only others but ourselves as well.”
