WITH STEPH FROM NUNU DESIGNS.
Q. Who is Steph Vance???? A. I love nothing more than hanging out with my family and friends. I have such a great circle around me and I couldn‘t wish for anything better. Growing up in the Sutherland Shire I spent lots of time outdoors. I love that I can come home from work on a summer‘s night and head straight to the beach for a swim! What a great place we live in! As for fashion..... I‘ve always loved fashion since I was little playing dress
ups with my sister and neighbours. All through school I knew I wanted to be in the industry and I couldn‘t imag- ine doing anything else. And nunu ? I started Nunu back in 2007 originally with my sister
This issue we caught up with -yes- another fabulous, local designer. Steph Vance; aka nunu, is obsessed with colour. Hot Pink, granny smith green and electric blue complete her new collection, like Pop Art on a factory wall. Steph has been inspired by fashion most of her life , always adopting her own style and providing an individual character to every piece she creates. [We took nunu designs underground for the ISSUE 5 fashion spread. Check it out on page 24]
Alex. When she was little she could never say my name. Instead she called me Nunu and the name stuck. Our Grandmother had passed away a couple years earlier and through the years she had given us lots of bags of beads. We both loved jewellery so much we started making pieces out of the beads she had given us. Every- one loved them so much we decided to start the busi- ness. I know as my grandmother also loved handbags she would be looking down on us and be very proud…… and probably eyeing off the latest piece.
