NEW MANAGING PARTNER AT MOURANT OZANNES Advocate Daniel Birtwistle has recently been appointed as the Managing Partner of Mourant Ozannes’ Jersey office, having been at the firm since 1995. Daniel qualified as a Jersey lawyer in 1998 and was admitted as a Partner in the firm in 2004. He ran the firm’s London office between 2006 and 2007, and has been on Mourant Ozannes’ management committee since 2008. A member of the Funds practice group, he specialises in private equity and real estate funds.


WAVE TELECOM APPOINTS NEW MD Wave Telecom has appointed Paul D Taylor as Managing Director to oversee the next phase of the company’s development. Paul has over 25 years’ industry experience working in the UK, Caribbean, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. Throughout his career, he has held a number of senior leadership roles within global telecoms companies – three years of which have been in Guernsey – and for the past seven months he has provided consultancy services to JT Group.


FITZ APPOINTED OGIER CHAIRMAN Ogier has appointed Sarah Fitz as Chairman of the Ogier Group, making her the only female Chairman of an international legal and fiduciary firm. Sarah joined Ogier in 1987 and is the Head of the Ogier Personal Law Group. She specialises in criminal and family matters and undertakes prosecutions on behalf of the Crown. Nick Kershaw, Ogier Group CEO, said: “Sarah is a key member of the partnership, and I know that we will continue to go from strength to strength with her help and guidance.”


CASE BECOMES HEALTHSPAN CEO Graham Case has been appointed Chief Executive of Guernsey- based company Healthspan, the biggest direct brand of nutritional supplements in the UK. Graham has been with the company since 1999, and previously held the role of Deputy CEO. He takes over his new position from company founder Derek Coates who will remain as Chairman. Michael Lawther has been appointed Deputy CEO, and will also continue in his current role of Group Finance Director.


NEW PARTNERS FOR CAREY OLSEN Carey Olsen has appointed two new Partners in its Jersey office. Daniel O’Connor and Peter German join the company’s busy corporate, finance and investment funds group. Daniel (left) joined Carey Olsen in 2008 and specialises in investment funds, private equity and financial services regulation. Peter has been with the company since 2005 and specialises in finance, including local and international banking, real estate finance and more general corporate work.


FAIRBAIRN APPOINTS TWO TO THE BOARD Fairbairn Private Bank has recently appointed Craig Blenkinsop and Steve Fox to its board of directors. Craig, who has been with the bank for seven years, is based in the bank’s Isle of Man office and currently holds the role of Head of Operations and Finance. Steve (pictured) joined the bank in 2002 from SG Hambros and is currently Head of the Jersey office and Head of Treasury. He has over 27 years’ experience in the finance industry.
