St. Catharine College Recognizes Donors with President’s Dinner

T

he Spalding Student and Community Center at St. Catharine College was the scene of the second annual Presi- dent’s Dinner on January 25 as SCC President William D. Huston welcomed supporters of the Col- lege.

“The President’s Dinner is our way of saying thank you to our major donors,” said Molly Smith,

Director of Development at SCC. Donors who gave $1,000 or more during the 2009-10 fiscal year were invited to the event. The evening began with a social hour with music provided by harp- ist and vocalist Deanna Loveland. After dinner, guest speaker Bob Goodlett spoke briefly, followed by remarks from President Huston. Jenna Copple, SCC Vice-Pres-

ident for Advancement, presented certificates of appreciation to sev- eral of the College’s donors who were in attendance. Emily Wallace Hundley also received a special award for reach- ing the $500,000 Lifetime Giving level.

Help the Scholarship Fund with an SCC License Plate

Buy a St. Catharine College license plate. It not only gives increased visibility to the College, but for every license plate sold, $10 goes to the St. Catharine College scholarship fund. Check with your local County Clerk. Many have them already on hand but if not, they can order one for you.

“Without our supporters, our vision and dreams would be only that,” said President Huston. “Our successes at SCC have been the result of individuals coming to- gether to form a unified team and produce results; an end product that everyone is very proud to have in their community and region. We have had individuals and families throughout the years who have sacrificed to help SCC. Now is no different; we have all levels of donors who have made a difference and have sacrificed some of their own needs and de- sires. To them, the College has al- ways been a priority. The reward- ing aspect of the dinner is that all who are present are there because they are supporters of our mission and vision, and they were able to contribute to help this become a reality. It is a humbling experi- ence.”
