Richard Elliott The Boeing Company


Richard Elliott is a Mfg. /Industrial Engineer with work experience in raw materials, fabrication, assembly, test, transportation, warehousing, and distribution. Industrial sectors include high volume perishable goods, high performance metals, composites, electronics, electrical, and aerospace. Richard work history includes Anheuser-Busch, Allegheny-Teledyne, Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Boeing Defense, Space & Security.


Shahrukh A. Irani The Ohio State University


Dr. Shahrukh A. Irani is an associate professor in the Department of Integrated Systems Engineering in the College of Engineering at The Ohio State University. His research focuses on the development of new IE methods to assist high- mix, low-volume small and medium enterprises. He is the inventor of the PFAST (Production Flow Analysis and Simplification Toolkit) software that facilitates the implementation of lean in job shops. Currently, he is the director of the Advanced Manufacturing Interest Group, a consortium that seeks to incorporate industry experience across the industrial engineering curriculum through a variety of engagements with Ohio manufacturers. In 1995-96, he worked in industry on a faculty internship that was partially supported by the Grant Opportunities for Academic Liaison program of the National Science Foundation. Dr. Irani is the editor of the Handbook of Cellular Manufacturing Systems published in 1999 by John Wiley. In 1996, Dr. Irani was voted Young Engineer of the Year by the Minnesota Federation of Engineering Societies and the Minneapolis Chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineers. He served as the director of the Facilities Planning and Design division of the Institute of Industrial Engineers for 1999-2001 and 2001-2003.


Cortez Martin UPS


Cortez Martin is currently the Central Region industrial engineering coordinator for all package and delivery operations within UPS. Cortez leads the package and delivery planning for the Central Region which consists of North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa and Kansas. Cortez has more than 11 years of experience forecasting and planning for the package delivery function of UPS as well as the transportation side. He is currently in charge of all short-term, long- term and holiday planning as well as managing the work measurement for our delivery drivers and inside part-time operations. In addition, he is responsible for training new IE management to create specific work measurement for the inside operations of UPS. Cortez has a B.S. in industrial engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering and a MBA from National Louis University in Chicago.


Harith Mitchom UPS


Harith Mitchom is currently the Central Region industrial engineering coordinator for all transportation operations within UPS. Harith has been with UPS for more than 10 years gaining engineering experience on both the package delivery and transportation side of the company. Throughout his career he has developed several pieces of measurement for different operations within the UPS. In his current position Harith and his team frequent six district to audit and monitor work measurement consistency throughout the Central Region. Prior to UPS, Harith spent time at Bombardier Motor Co. developing time standards for the recreation division. Harith has a B.S. in engineering from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and a MBA from Fontbonne University in St. Louis.
