Over To You Your letters
The brightest moment during a long, often grey, southwestern Ontario winter is marked by the arrival of BRITAIN magazine.
Today the latest issue focusing on London arrived (Volume 80, Issue 1). Having recently discovered that my great-grandparents originated from this spectacular city, I am always delighted to learn more. So I settled down immediately to peruse the articles.

We recently bought the new Jane Eyre fi lm with Mia Wasikowskz, Michael Fassbender, Jamie Bell and Judi Dench. In what great house of England was it fi lmed? We recognised some of the places in outdoor scenes as ones we'd visited when we were in Britain. Phyllis H Conway (by email)

I have fi nally realised a long-held dream of a driving holiday around the UK. When my husband and I decided earlier this year to embark on this trip, I very excitedly pulled out my large stack of back issues of BRITAIN magazine and began planning. I have drooled over the beautiful photos and avidly read the articles in every issue, but now I was making lots of notes and planning. The magazine helped me to not only visit the well-

known places, but to meander around some of the beautiful lesser-known areas. When friends and family ask the inevitable question “What was your favourite place?” I can’t really answer because there were so many. We loved the gorgeous villages and countryside of
Dorset, the fantastic coastline of Cornwall, the green fi elds, stone walls and black- faced sheep of the Yorkshire Dales and the beautiful vistas of the Lake District, to name just a few. We watched a great performance of Fiddler on the Roof at the Minack Theatre in Cornwall on a night where the mist swirled around the stage. We had the
