A new website is to be launched by the Church of England on Ash Wednesday 22nd February. Prayoneforme.org offers people the opportunity to post prayer requests online and be part of the prayer life of thousands across the worldwide church.


Can your parish or benefice consider a rota of visiting the site and praying the prayers? Or how about regularly using the site and its prayer themes as part of your intercession prayers yourself or in church? Through the year, the site will occasionally encourage themed prayers to focus prayer on some of the life’s big events such as Christian Aid week, the Queen’s Jubilee, the Olympics, and Education Sunday, and to respond to events in the news.

the route a month before the torch arrives. Asked what reasoning lay behind the project Richard said, “Jesus teaches us that prayer changes things. We’ll be praying for the parishes through which the torch is passing, both for their outreach and for the life of their communities. Just as the Olympic torch will be lighting the route we’ll be praying that the light of the Gospel shines brightly and that our church will use the evangelistic opportunities the Olympics presents.” To raise the profile Richard plans to ride the route on a motorbike and hopes that others may want to join him. He asks for prayer that it won’t rain! More details in the next magazine.
