To celebrate beer, we have continued to innovate and invest so that we make products that excite the drinking public and drive sales in pubs, bars and clubs across the UK. An essential element in championing beer
is offering a wide, varied portfolio of beers so our customers can offer choice at the bar cater for a wide range of occasions. In addition to favourites such as Carling and Coors Light we also sell an unrivalled portfolio of world beers like Corona Extra, Cobra and Grolsch. We are also proud to be supporting the renaissance of cask beer. Last year, Molson Coors acquired Sharp’s Brewery in Cornwall to sit alongside the developing Worthington’s family of ales. Its most famous tipple, Doom Bar, the number one selling cask brand in the South West and Wales and the fastest growing cask brand in Greater London¹ , has been important in introducing ale to a new, younger audience. In short, we offer the most diverse range
of beers for British bars and pubs. This is ever more important for those catering to students, who are facing higher fees and less money in their back pocket. We support our customers so that together we demonstrate to students that having a pint in the bar with their friends, so long the hallmark of the university experience, is one of life’s simple pleasures and that the experience and products on offer cannot be easily replicated at home. To help support this, Molson Coors has
committed itself to being at the cutting edge of innovation in our category. Last year, Molson Coors took aim at the £396m gap² in the market by producing a beer designed specifi cally with women in mind. The result, Animée, launched in July and the strong sales it has seen in off-

licences and supermarkets are starting to be refl ected at the bar. The beer, which comes in three different fl avours (clear fi ltered, crisp rose and zesty lemon), is less carbonated and lower in calories and alcohol content – a response to research we did into why women account for only 17 per cent of beer sales³. We will not be limiting our innovation to just
new products, but also how they are served. In the second half of 2011 we began the roll out of aluminium bottles for Carling, Caffrey’s and Coors Light to inject excitement in to the category. The Aluminium bottles offer a stylish, smooth and refreshing drinking experience in a bottle that’s lightweight and keeps beer colder for longer. For caterers and barkeepers, the most important benefi t is the safety element – unlike glass bottles they do not smash and so the risk of accidental injury is minimal. Finally, we will be rolling out 2/3rd pint
glasses through 2012 for all our brands as we seek to promote responsible drinking and
broaden beer’s appeal. This innovation into new products as well
as the continued investment into our existing portfolio is matched by the support we give our customers. So much of the appeal of drinking at the bar is down to the experience, which is why our team at Molson Coors help train and educate bar staff on the products they sell and on how to pour them to achieve the perfect serve every time. Our aim is to make beer champions of all those that serve our products so that we can enthuse the drinking public and boost sales for pubs, bars and clubs across the UK.
