While two thirds of voters told us they had not heard of the RAF Benevolent Fund (RAF BF), more than 50% were aware of the RAF BF youth project ‘Airplay’.


It was evident from those we met, though, that many had not connected the RAFBF and the Airplay project or realised that the dedicated youth workers on many Stations had been funded by the charity. This caused much hilarity in some workshops as the youth workers present were wearing uniforms emblazoned with the RAFBF/Airplay logos!


We also asked survey participants whether youth services had improved since a dedicated local youth worker had been appointed by the RAF BF. While 38% were not sure, 39% were positive that they had.
