his magazine has seen its fair share of big names interviewed- Oscar winners, A-List stars, ground-

breaking directors… but never before have we had icons. Two giants of the bhowbiz world, Kermit The Frog and Miss Piggy, return to the big screen this month following a twelve year absence.

“The Muppets” stars Jason Seigel as the brother of the worldʼs biggest Muppet fan, who longs to see them when they visit Hollywood. Sadly, the Muppet Studios face being demolished by an awful oil baron, and they must put on a show to raise enough money to save their home. “Itʼs always wonderful to get back with all the gang” beams Kermit. “All the different personalities, different quirks, I love it!”

Although theyʼve been stars for years, awards have always eluded the furry gang, something that Miss Piggy feels is a grave injustice. “We donʼt know why the Academy doesnʼt recognise other species than human- as actors, artists, as talent!” Piggy rages. “Theyʼre very

ʻspecies-istʼ” Kermit adds.

Nevertheless, they

are pop culture icons, but who were their inspirations growing up? “Besides myself?” Piggy snaps. “I really love the screen legends- you know, Garbo, Marilyn, Dietrich… I feel like I am a continuation of that legacy!” There is one star that she would love to work with however. “Um… Brad Pitt!” she whispers.

Itʼs been nearly five decades since The Muppets started out in show business, and Kermit believes honesty is the key to longevity in the movie world. “I think itʼs due to the fact that weʼve stayed true to

who we are, sort of evolved with the times. Weʼve never been interested in being CG, weʼve always wanted to be real in a real world.”

“The Muppets” has been a huge success, with calls for a sequel, but where do Kermit and Friends fo from here? “I think Piggy would fit very well into the Bollywood style”

Kermit answers. “All those musical numbers, and that high nasal singing…” How about Piggy in a Sari? “Oh I think weʼd all be ʻSariʼ!”

What did James think?

The Muppets are back! Audiences young and old will delight in the silliness, great songs and hilarious jokes (well, except from Fozzy Bear) as the Muppet gang are revived for a new adventure. It certainly feels true to The Muppet traditions, but thanks to a wonderful script from star Jason Seigel (a life-long Muppets fan) this feels fresh, witty, and fun. Perfect family entertainment.
