“Water Drops: Message to Humanity,” Izmir,Turkey A Disney Friends for Change Grantee

“Water Drops: Message to Humanity” creatively engaged youth to raise awareness about water scarcity. In the lead-up to GYSD, the young people researched water issues and prepared educational materials. Then, on GYSD, the very young children dressed as water droplets, and in a flash-mob-style event, they “flooded” a busy square, handing out flyers, stickers, and brochures encouraging people to save water. The flashmob-style performance art generated significant attention, and was even recognized by former U.S. President Bill Clinton.
