YSA in 2015
As part of a five-year strategic plan, YSA will directly engage 3.7 million children and young adults in tracked programs that improve academic achievement, increase workplace readiness skills, and strength at least 5,000 communities.
Behind the scenes, YSA:
distributed a record-breaking $1,007,300 in project and training grants;
garnered the support of Mrs. Obama, Bill Clinton, Miss America, Miley Cyrus, and others to highlight the importance of youth and service;
updated our brand to better reflect the international scope of our activities;
began planning for YSA’s and Global Youth Service Day’s 25th anniversary celebrations, spanning 2011-2014;
developed a five-year strategic plan and set in place the resources to support it.

Each year, millions of youth around the world participate in YSA programs and events like Global Youth Service Day. Through collaborations with grantees and program partners, YSA tracked the direct engagement of:
