The Promise Touted as the “first gourmet nutrition bar with Resveratrol,” this bar purports to contain more of the heart-healthy components of grapes than 50 glasses of wine (without the sloppy hangover. Okay, that was an editorial addition.) Each bar

pomegranate, goji berry, acai, mangosteen and blueberry, and a total of 180-190 calories. What the bars do not contain are any artificial flavors or additives, trans fats, sweeteners, cholesterol, dairy or gluten.

The Results I’m not a big wine drinker, much to the chagrin of my husband who has been telling me for years that one glass of wine a day has health benefits. Honestly, I think it’s more that he would love to see me peel myself off the ceiling at night after a day of work and kids and unwind with a chardonnay. So, when the opportunity arose to pair the healthy side of alcohol with my favorite food group, chocolate, I was all in. I loved that the first

contains seven extra noni,

ingredient of the Winetime bars was dates, and not sugar like so many other food bars. Of the two flavors, I prefer the chocolate/dates/ almond bar over the chocolate/raspberry since I liked the crunch. It was wonderful with a cup of coffee in the morning – which I hope at least equaled out the non-health benefits of java and caffeine! The bars are very dense, so it didn’t leave me wanting something else to eat like a lot of other food bars. The cost is a bit high per bar, but I’m hoping

these may make it into more retail outlets soon (Whole Foods carries the bar, but it looks like only their West Coast stores at this point). I think a Winetime bar would be a great option for women looking for a low-calorie, healthy addition to her diet.
