“In the past dentures have been easily recognisable causing a great deal of embarrassment and anxiety to the wearer. This often occurs as the chosen teeth are too light and small for the patient. They look artificial and are set in an unnatural straight alignment,” he said.
“We very carefully select the most natural artificial teeth with an enhanced translucency and depth of colour, which are individually placed to give a most natural appearance.
“We are also able to replicate the natural gum appearance for patients using revolutionary new colour toned acrylics. These are personally mixed for each patient producing a natural denture as individual as they are.”
Nick started his career in dentistry in 1983 studying and completing with Distinction the BTEC National Diploma in dental technology. Over the years he has continued to attend courses, both in the UK and abroad, in turn becoming one of the country’s leading technicians.
In 2004 he undertook further advanced study through the George Brown College, Toronto, International Clinical Dental Technicians programme graduating with honours in 2007.
In the autumn of 2007 Nick successfully passed the Royal College of Surgeons Diploma in Clinical Dental Technology, which enabled him to become one of the first registered with the General Dental Council.
His Beautiful Smiles Denture Clinic is the longest established of its kind in Cornwall working alongside other dental care professionals in practice. He is one of only a handful of clinical dental technicians in the South West.
