MARSHALLS PROMOTION MEANS THE PRICE IS RIGHT!

MARSHALLS is helping independent retailers to boost sales of its top-selling Cheesey Macaroni brand with the launch of a special offer 89p price-marked pack. The special price promotion, which features on 190g packs of Marshalls’ top-selling Cheesey Macaroni, has been launched via leading cash and carries and wholesalers and will allow independent retailers to compete strongly on price against the multiple grocers. Peter Foster, Sales Director of Marshalls Foods, said: “As the number one pasta brand in Scotland, we are delighted to be supporting independent retailers with a very powerful promotion. We know this initiative will also be very well received by consumers and will prove to be a great success.” Marshalls is continuing to increase market share in a savoury pasta ‘take home’ market in Scotland that is worth £8.4m and is achieving impressive sales growth of more than 11% per year.

Marshalls’ top-selling Cheesey Macaroni provides a quick, inexpensive and easy meal for 2-3 people in just 15 minutes. Consumers simply have to add milk and butter to the traditional cheddar cheese sauce mix to prepare a tasty, traditional, comforting and hearty meal which is the perfect antidote to the harshest of Scottish winters!

The launch of price-marked packs for Cheesey Macaroni follows the recent introduction by Marshalls of a delicious new Cheesey & Ham Macaroni variety. The Marshalls brand is renowned for its excellent quality, value and its proud Scottish tradition and heritage, which stretches back to 1878 when the company was founded by Glasgow flour merchant James Marshall. The Marshalls range will be strongly supported in 2012 with trade and consumer advertising plus consumer sampling at high-profile events and venues. “Research shows that 37% of all Scottish shoppers have purchased Marshalls pasta in the past year,” said Peter Foster. “With new price-marked packs and record-breaking levels of advertising and promotional support planned for 2012, the message to retailers is to stock up and benefit from the consistently strong consumer demand for Marshalls pasta products.”
