1 YEAR (LEVEL 2) COURSES YEAR 12/13 SEPTEMBER 2012 (ON SITE AT GREAT MARLOW SCHOOL)
From September 2012, the Sixth Form is offering a curriculum for those students who achieve approximately 3/4 GCSE grades A–C and some Grade D’s. However, entry requirements are subject to the discretion of the Head of Department. This curriculum will enable successful students to continue studying a full set of AS/A2 subjects if they achieved a minimum of a merit grade. This would mean 3 years in the 6th Form to achieve A Levels. Alternatively these one year
courses would equip students with a good set of GCSE passes if they wished to proceed on to the job market. For September 2012, three Options A, B and C are being offered. Please note that the BTEC First Diplomas in Sports & Exercise Science and Business are equivalent to 4 GCSE grades A*–C. Child Care & Education (Level 2) qualifies students to work in a Nursery and leads to the DCE course in the 6th Form, which is equivalent to 3 A Levels if grades A*-C is achieved at Level 2.
The Study Room, which is solely for the use of
Sixth formers, allows us to work independently
and productively on our coursework.
Please note that in common with other educational establishments, all one year courses offered are subject to viable numbers.
