The work that sixth formers do for charity and fundraising is formidable. Interact is a group of volunteers who meet each week with members of the Rotary Club to plan events throughout the year for local charities. Through a variety of high-profile events, our sixth form raised over £200 for Children in Need in 2011. The student body also contributes each year to local charities and visits pensioners with gifts at Christmas time.

For several years now, students have been sent to visit Auschwitz in Poland as part of the ‘Letters from

Auschwitz’ Holocaust memorial scheme. On their return, they deliver whole school assemblies to raise awareness of this period in history.

This academic year the weekly ‘Larkshare’ podcast has been created and will hopefully leave a legacy for many years; the year 12 and 13 football team have played in a league against other sixth forms and colleges

HEAD BOY

“I feel privileged to have been elected Head Boy as it has

allowed me to become greatly involved in the decisions and

development of the 6th Form, and the school itself.”

and ‘World Challenge’ has been available to students for the first time. If students are proactive, energetic and motivated, they will find that there is huge scope and support to add to the variety of enrichment activities.

YOUNG ENTERPRISE

Young Enterprise is also offered to Year 12 students. It provides a unique opportunity for students to run their own mini businesses. It is well recognised by employers and is an extremely desirable enrichment activity for A Level students.

HEAD GIRL

“Becoming Head Girl at Great Marlow has given me the

opportunity to develop skills that I am sure to need in the future. Our 6th Form has a fantastic atmosphere and it is

great to be a part of something so special.”
