Unit 4 - Physics on the move
This unit involves the further study of mechanics to cover momentum and circular motion, electric and magnetic fields and particle physics.
Assessment: A written paper of 1 hour 35 minutes. It will be a mixture of objective and written answers.
20% of the total A2 marks Unit 5 - Physics from Creation to Collapse
This unit involves the study of thermal energy, nuclear decay, oscillations, astrophysics and cosmology. This may be taught in the context of the construction of buildings in earthquake zones and the physical interpretation of astronomical observations.
Assessment: A written paper of 1 hour 35 minutes. It will be a mixture of objective and written answers.
20% of the total A2 marks Unit 6 - Experimental Physics
This unit involves planning an experiment, carrying out an experiment and analysing experimental results.
Assessment: 2 hour Internal assessment under supervised conditions.
10% of the total A2 marks
AS/A2 POLITICS One Year AS-Level Course or Full Two Year A-Level Course
Why Study Politics?
Politics is a diverse subject and will compliment a range of other options such as History, Business, Economics, Sociology, Geography and Law. It is of practical use in helping you learn about your rights and how to exercise them. Politics looks at the world as it is today and is highly regarded by employers and Universities. The qualification title is the OCR Advanced GCE in Government and Politics.
What will I study?
The course is OCR A-Level in Government and Politics. You will study two units, each of which can be sat in January and/or June. Best results count. Unit 1 – Politics of the UK
You will learn about the political parties and main pressure groups in this country. You will also learn about the various electoral methods that are used on different occasions, such as General Elections and Local Elections,
