Edexcel BTEC DIPLOMA IN SPORT LEVEL 3

Why study BTEC Sport?

Level 3 BTEC Certificate is equilivant to 1 AS Level and will be completed in the first year of study. Following successful completion of the Certificate a student can then opt to continue to achieve the BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Sport which is equlivant to 1 A Level.

BTEC Sport is an alternative way of studying to traditional A Levels to help ensure that learners reach their potential. Learners are set assignments and rewarded along the way with credits towards a final outcome rather than experience the pressure of a traditional exam. This ensures that hard work and demonstration of their knowledge is rewarded during an ongoing process.

Assessment

Assessment is through a variety of methods such as presentations, written work and other similar vocational and work related skills.

Grading of assessments is through the awarding of credits for each assignment completed. The points awarded per credit is then converted into either a Pass, Merit or Distinction grade for that task.

What will I learn?

A variety of assignments will be chosen according to the cohort to support the learning of the mandatory units. Example of Mandatory Units

Example of Optional Units
