AS/A2 IN GEOGRAPHY One Year AS-Level Course or Full Two Year A-Level Course
Why Study Geography?
The world we live in is changing. Geography allows you to see why and how it is changing. It can enhance communication skills, literacy and numeracy, IT literacy, spatial awareness, team working, problem solving and environmental awareness. The A level Geography course will appeal to you if:
you are curious about the world’s places, peoples and environments you like asking questions and finding answers you are interested in local, regional and global issues you have the ability to think independently
you wish to explore human, physical and environmental geographical relationships.
What will I learn? At Great Marlow School we follow the Edexcel A level specification.
How is the course taught?
Teaching is usually in small groups and is shared by two teachers using a variety of teaching methods and resources. At times there will be formal taught lessons and occasionally less formal, ‘tutorial’ style lessons will take place. You will be required to support your classroom learning with significant research and study outside lesson times.
