Unit 8 - Managing ICT Projects It is now widely recognised that specialist knowledge and skills
are required to manage project successfully. This unit will introduce you to some of the formal project management tools and methods, as well as give you an opportunity to use specialist software to plan and monitor projects.
You will be required to set up and run a small-scale software project. This will involve you setting up meetings with your client at various stages, sourcing resources such as expertise and equipment, and managing your time effectively.
Assessment – Internally assessed coursework
Unit 11 - Using Spreadsheet Software In this unit you will learn the skills and techniques needed to
design and create technically complex spreadsheets. Your spreadsheet will incorporate data validation and other techniques to reduce the potential for data entry errors, as well as ‘future proofing’ features which make it easier to implement modification at a later date.
Your work for this unit will culminate in the design, development and testing of a spreadsheet capable of analysing, interpreting and communicating complex data. You will work with a client to develop a set of user requirements that will enable you to demonstrate your competence. Assessment – Internally assessed coursework
